Your Webinar Is Finished, Now What? The Importance Of Follow Up
The line clicks as people hang-up and you watch the list of online attendees shrink to just your name. You did it! You made it through your Webinar” rel=”tag”>webinar. Can you sit back and relax? Well, yes, but don’t forget the webinar may be through, but you’ve still got some work to do.
First things first, you should thank everyone for coming. Send a quick email to your attendees with your gratitude. Tell them you’ll be looking forward to seeing them in the next webinar. This is also a good time to send the agenda, PowerPoint and other materials you have prepared for the next webinar.
The next step is to compile everything you covered during the meeting. Did someone take notes? Did you all work on a whiteboard, or a spreadsheet? Were there any action items covered? This is a good time to look over and clean up the things you all worked on together. Once that’s done, send it out to the appropriate people.
It’s always a good idea to record your webinars. You never know when someone has a great idea or goes over something that doesn’t make it into the notes. Aside from that, why not send out a copy of the webinar to all the attendees? It reinforces the importance of the meeting and will help them if they forgot to write something down.
Recordings of webinars don’t have to be just used internally. Put it on your website for all to enjoy. You can also make it available to valued customers, or even let people buy a download of it. Parts of the webinar can be used in reports, training courses or even future webinars.
The point is a webinar doesn’t disappear when everyone hangs up. When one webinar ends, it’s time to work on the next one. Thanking your participants, using the recorded webinar, and following through on the things you talked about will go a long way toward making your next webinar a success.
