How Long Should My Teleseminar Be?

One of the biggest concerns about creating one of these is how long should it be. If your teleseminar is too short people will think they didn’t get their money’s worth or if it’s too long, you may lose people after a time due to the length.
The first thing to remember is to design the time period as you would with any other type of program. The teleseminar format, of itself, doesn’t require a unique type of time frame. You can design it with the same guidelines you use for any other type of presentation.
You general guideline should be 45 minutes to an hour of talking and instruction. After that, you can open up the seminar for a question and answer period of about 15 minutes and then close it all up. This way, you can get across all the information you need and at the end, the audience is given a chance to actively participate.
If you are doing a training session, stick to an hour and make certain documents available to participants to download prior to the seminar. This way they can follow along and fill things out throughout the presentation. Some time should be allotted after each major section for questions if anyone has any.
If, your seminar is a coaching seminar, you will be doing a good bit of talking with a solid interaction base from the audience. You can expect 75% of the seminar will consist of you talking and the rest of the time will be audience participation.
Generally, about an hour to 90 minutes is a good time frame for a teleseminar. If you run longer than that, you are risking losing the interest of your audience. People are making time in their schedule for your teleseminar, so keep things as condensed as possible.
