Creating A Successful & Engaging Webinar Presentation
If you are going to create a Webinar, you might as well do it right. Take the time to make sure your presentation will be engaging and interesting for the greatest opportunity for success.
Begin by scheduling guests your audience members want to see. Experts in your field, popular personalities and people who have a knack for connecting with others are excellent additions to your webinar. Humor is always a great way to engage your audience and keep your webinar from becoming dull. It needs to be tasteful humor, unless you are completely sure your audience won’t be offended by a little off-color language. Humor used in a webinar should also avoid controversial topics to prevent potential offense.
Interaction with your audience is critical to an engaging presentation. Stop periodically and allow for short Q & A sessions so your audience remains involved and feels important. You can provide downloadable written agendas, study guides and worksheets as a means of engaging your audience as well.
Other techniques to perk up your webinar include using video or computer screen shots to illustrate points, demonstrate techniques or highlight products. The more you engage your audiences’ senses, the more involved they will become in the webinar and the more successful it will become.
You can keep your audience engaged by minimizing distractions. Mute any phone lines being used and ensure the webinar host you are using is technologically able to handle your anticipated audience. Nothing stops a webinar cold faster than an inability to see or hear without problems.
Spend time creating your presentation to make sure your content is varied enough to be interesting, while specific enough to prevent overload. Think carefully about the words you use, striving to use active verbs and calls to action that will spur your audience to respond. Keep your language professional, yet friendly so it doesn’t sound dry. Practice reading your script several times before the webinar to make sure you are fully prepared and sound natural during the presentation.
